Femi Falana, a prominent human rights activist, has revealed threats made against him and his family in connection with the case involving social critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, and crossdresser Okuneye Idris, nicknamed Bobrisky.
VeryDarkMan said that Falana attempted to obtain Bobrisky’s release from prison following his conviction in April.
However, Falana revealed in an interview with Sahara Reporters on Monday, October 7, 2024, that he has received threats from intimidators if he goes the court, labeling those behind the threats as’mentally disturbed’.
“The only unsettling aspect of this scenario is the threat to myself and one of my two daughters. Some of these folks who I believe are mentally unstable have dared me, saying, “If you like, if you go to court, we will burn your office.”
“They have also written messages to one of my kids, threatening to harm her if her father goes to court. I beg your pardon in this country; I simply chuckled and told my daughter, “Don’t worry, I’ll take it up,” he added.
“I have already taken that up because we must also let these guys know where we are coming from.”
