Another enormous whale that was stranded in the coastal village of Okpoama in Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, was killed by the locals.
When locals saw the whale on the beach on Wednesday morning, it was dead. It measured roughly 15 meters long by 5 meters wide and 3 meters high.

Tuesday night’s high tide is thought to have brought it in, and at low tide, the sea water is thought to have abandoned it on the shore.
Tarinyo Akono, a community source, informed The PUNCH on Wednesday that “they are butchering the whale,” claiming that the individuals were severing the carcass with axes and machetes.
In an interview with our journalist, Okpoama’s youth president, Seiyefa Felix Ben-Basuo, claimed that the animal was being butchered by people by the shore.
August 2019, five years ago, the same seaside community saw the stranding of a gigantic whale, which the locals killed for sustenance.
