Popular and most foremost Support Group, Reclaim Cross River, yesterday called on the people of Cross River State to support the aspiration of Dist. Senator Sandy Ojang Onor to become the Governor of the State in 2023. According to the group, there are no hard and fast rules for the equitable distribution or rotation of power in the State as the Governorship of the State has gone round the 3 Senatorial District that make up the State. The group further noted that the most important consideration in power rotation is to ensure a particular region doesn’t hold power successively.
In a statement released by the Director General, Barr. Paul Ishabor, he reiterated the fact that Cross River State is in a precarious state and therefore needs a leader like Dist. Senator Sandy who possesses the requisite experience in governance to transform the State.
Ishabor said, Senator Sandy who served as a Local Government Chairman, Deputy National President of ALGON, Commissioner for Agriculture and Environment at different times, Chairman Local Government Service Commission amongst others, has all it takes to pilot the affairs of the State.
“We need a leader in Cross River State who has the institutional memory to take off without delay by first reviving our collapsed institutions, improving the State’s critical infrastructure, reviving the educational and health care sectors and make them functional, revamping the agricultural sector, restoring the lost glory of our traditional institutions and create jobs for our teeming youths roaming the streets through attraction of major investors into the State economy and encouraging the development and growth of MSMEs in the State”.
“We have the strong conviction that Senator Sandy Onor will transform the image of Cross River State with his intellectual sagacity, his firmness and clear vision for human capital and infrastructural development for the betterment of our beloved citizens”, He added.
Senator Sandy who is the incumbent Senator Representing Cross River Central, possesses the intellectual prowess, the requisite experience and exposure, as well as the will power to pilot the affairs of the state as Governor come 2023.
