Asake and Rema gets featured in Obama’s favourite songs of 2024.

 

Former US President Barack Obama has unveiled his widely anticipated annual playlist, which features his favorite tunes from 2024.

According to a post on his verified X account, this year’s playlist features a varied spectrum of musicians and genres, with Nigerian music icons Rema and Asake making prominent appearances.

“These are my favourite songs from this year! Check them out if you want to change up your playlist, and let me know if you have any recommendations for songs or artists I should listen to,” he stated.

Rema’s hit tune “Yayo” made the playlist, showcasing his global reach and the growing influence of Afrobeats.

Asake’s duet with American rapper Travis Scott, “Active,” was also on the list.

Other notable songs on Obama’s playlist include Billie Eilish’s “Lunch,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Squabble Up.”

Obama’s annual playlist, which has been a tradition since 2015, offers a unique glimpse into his own musical interests while highlighting a varied range of artists from around the world.
