The family of Sodiq Olayode, who just welcomed quadruplets, has received a N5 million donation from the Femi Otedola Foundation.
Following a wave of support from Nigerians, who have donated over N19 million for the family through online donations, this donation has been made.
Social media users became aware of the Olayode family’s story when one of their coworkers, Oyeniran James, posted about the family’s difficulties on X.com in July.
James shared on Twitter under the handle #jamysax how Olayode bemoaned the quadruplets’ 105 diaper usage in just six days.
Due to this, Nigerians gave millions of dollars to support the family in a sudden outpouring of kindness.
A N5 million check was given to the Olayode family on Monday by the well-known humanitarian Femi Otedola Foundation.
Philip Akinola accepted the check on behalf of the foundation.
Furthermore, Otedola provided scholarships for the higher study of two of the kids.
On Monday night, James shared the news on X.com, writing, “Guyssssssssssss, Guess what????
“#realFemiOtedola sent delegates to give the parents of the quadruplets with a N5 million cheque in addition to a scholarship for two of their children’s college tuition. Guys, I’m crying.
This gift comes after Airtel Nigeria gave the family N2 million.
The Olayodes were shocked to see quadruplets—two boys and two girls—when they had only anticipated a single child.
