Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu promised on Wednesday to see to it that the people responsible for the recent kidnapping of three Lebanese nationals—among them, Muhammad Fouani, the Managing Director of Fouani Nigeria Limited—are apprehended.
Gboyega Akosile, his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, made a statement that included this information.
Sanwo-Olu declared that his administration will not support those in the state harboring bad intents.
He reassured citizens that there will be sufficient security in the state, pointing out that his administration is dedicated to making the state pleasant, serene, and cozy. He specifically addressed business owners and religious travelers.
We do not take any chances when it comes to the safety of people and their belongings. In the most recent event that took place in Lagos, three members of our Lebanese community were abducted. We are relieved that they are no longer in custody. I spoke with them this morning (Wednesday), and we have important information to make sure that those who committed the deed will not get away with it.
We will stop at nothing to prevent them from gaining a foothold in our state and city because we are aware of how far they have gone. I want to reassure everyone of Lagos’s continued safety and tranquility, including our national and foreign enterprises. Many believed that the occurrence took place in the vicinity of Five Cowry, Falomo. No, it really did happen on the way to Ikorodu, on the large water. Thus, they were nowhere near Falomo.
We want to reassure you that everything is under control. The security personnel are searching every relevant area. This is a clear indication that Lagos will not tolerate anybody with such bad intent.
