There is no way our society would have been better if we turn round and can’t sight any woman in our organisations, homes and anywhere we found ourselves in this globe. Women have contributed so great to even areas where men seems to dominate and women few.
It is in determination that so many men are where they are today and not because they are born “MEN”. WOMEN who are determined and focus have also made us proud by attaining different enviable status and positions where in some cases men compete with them but yet, they came out strong and celebrated.
As we celebrate 2022 International women’s day today, I want to sincerely celebrate women who has been a model to myself knowingly and unknowingly to them. I want to celebrate women who has been up and doing in our society by contributing to the development of our immediate communities and street children. Women who look beyond family ties by believing and contributing to the growth and development of upcoming stars whom others might not noticed because they are not blood related to them. I want to celebrate those women who are not sleeping but always working hard to make sure women’s voice are heard too:
Vice Chancellor of University of Calabar, Prof Florence Banku Obi : I call her the “Female King”. She is one among many women out there who has inspired many women because of her outstanding performance and not giving up spirit no matter how tough the race is. She is a model and mirror to alot who believe in transformation and change that seems to be a shift in paradigm from the usual. In her reign as VC, we have seen physical projects across Unical and more records coming in the nearer future. She is the perfect definition of what men can do, women can do better and appropriately.
Mrs Fifi Jari : You are not just a fashion hub model to people but in every aspect of life including charity, you are an Icon. Even if your social media handle is not lousy to showcased your all time good work of charity you do for people around you, the Federal Constituency and Senatorial District are proud of you due to how you react promptly to them whenever they call upon you, especially the women. Your simplicity/Humility as a big man’s wife is one thing that kept people asking if only the rest big men’s wives can be like this. Your type is rare in our society.
Mrs Mmeme Akpabio, Akwaibom state PDP women leader, a media practitioner by profession and a very active and vibrant politician: Life is beautiful when successful people try to expand beyond their coast. She chose to mentor women at random and not restricted to only the areas she is coming from. At every given opportunity she has, she is ready to go with someone who is upcoming. She believes in raising someone who can fit into her position if she is not around or when she feel like delegating someone.
Hon Rita Agbo Ayim, former commissioner for women Affairs, Cross River State. Take away “Carrying people of different tribes along” from her, she will become empty. Yes, many call her “Mummy General” because she is for everybody. No discrimination in her agenda. She is one woman that once she believe you can do a particular thing, she won’t think twice to fix you in your absence. She is in politics, her political lifestyle is worthy of emulation and the sky seems to be her starting point.
Rt Hon Regina Anyogo, my leader, Member Representing the good people of Yala 1state House of Assembly: one of the finest and beautiful women my Constituency is looking up to for now. Despite the difference in our political party view, she is one among the rest who still believes in the youths of Yala. Whenever she is been dragged or call upon to certain community needs, she don’t hesitate to do the ones within her reach and will always find time to dialogue with youths to understand with her unlike some who think life ends in positions that are durable. Several times, she has contributed to my girl child programs and community COVID-19 awareness event which was geared at stretching a helping hands to the needy.
Madam Usoro Akpabio, CEO UAEF, the boss lady and icon of “Pick them up from the street, dust and put them back on their feet”. The street children, less privileged, orphans etc are proud of you ma. You are the best in terms of changing lives.
Dr Linda Ayade, the first lady of Cross River state. Your excellency, you are doing well by the reason of your Mediatrix foundation which many lost hope are now hopeful and homeless, got shelter. More grace ma.
Dr Beta Edu, Commissioner for Health Cross River state. Beautiful commissioner, keep making women proud by always been a ladder for the less privileged to lean on. Keep reshaping the health facilities in our rural communities genuinely and be rest assured of more blessings ma.
Ambassador Freda Luu, CEO mother to many children. Your foot prints is everywhere and you know, this is just the beginning. Keep doing the best we all know you with because prayers of children to parents is as important as prayers and blessings of parents to children.
Mrs Anita Uti, the chairperson of mentor them young. On daily basis, you have one or two who are always celebrating you through different medium because we believe in your kind of person who is vying to change the narratives of this generation.
I celebrate you all today not because I want favour from you today or in future but because you all has been” OUTSTANDING “Keeping making women proud.
