Just a few hours after the police killed nine billionaire kidnappers who were allegedly terrorizing Lagos and its surroundings for a long time, it was revealed that Ode, a well-known Nollywood actor and producer from Port Harcourt, was one of the people killed in the shootout with the police.
Although doubts about the report persist, it has been verified with authority that the actor and producer was among the millionaire abductors who were eliminated by detectives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad in the Ladipo neighborhood of Lagos. After the news broke, Sunday Vanguard discovered that investigators had been working nonstop to locate the nine kidnappers they faced at the well-known Ladipo auto dealership. They have been doing both covert electronic and intelligence investigations.
It was discovered that they carried out more inquiries after finding other important and private belongings, including four cell phones, in the pockets of the deceased abductors. According to police sources, the actor was the owner of the two Jeeps that the kidnappers used—a Lexus 350 and a 4 Runner—which was the first startling revelation made by authorities. He had the proper registration for the two cars that turned out to be their working vehicles.
On the other hand, the two cell phones they utilized for the operations were registered under the actor’s name as well, but they had fictitious addresses and images of two unidentified young males on them. Other than that, all of the information in the documentary that the investigators obtained, according to sources, was in his name.
Additional information revealed that one of the gang’s fugitives had been located in a well-known northern city, and that capture attempts were underway. Detectives are closely monitoring activity in Lagos in order to identify and apprehend further members of their gang, as evidenced by the discovery of another of their well-known rendezvous. The owner of a well-known beer parlor, which the kidnappers are said to frequent, is already under police surveillance and has provided them with helpful information.
It was also learned that the kidnappers’ constant outfitting in military uniforms and other accessories allowed them easy access to police checkpoints, which is how they managed to elude the police searchlight for such a long time. Among the things found in their cars during their run-in with the law at Ladipo were the camouflage suits.
Executives from the Ladipo market recently paid Lagos State Police Commissioner Adegoke Fayoade a solidarity visit, according to police sources, and thanked him and the police for their success in driving criminals out of the market thus far. They also promised to work with the police to reduce crime during the visit and gave the police chief a certificate of appreciation.
