The body of a young person believed to be from Gombe State was found dead with serious wounds this past weekend in Zaria, close to the popular PZ area in Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
According to rumors, the deceased and his assassins were in Zaria with the hopes of being enlisted in the Nigerian Army.
Upon inquiry, our writer was informed by the Army Depot’s public relations officer, though, that they had also learned of an incident in which a civilian was killed after being robbed in the PZ. Journalists were informed by a source who yearned for secrecy that the young man had been “hacked to death” by his colleagues, who had taken N800,000 from his account.
“Knife wounds covered his lifeless corpse. It was discovered on Saturday morning in the Sabon Gari Local Government Area, close to the PZ area.
The deceased was from the state of Gombe. He had informed his pals that his parents had deposited roughly N1 million into his bank account. He even handed one of his pals his ATM card and password on Friday so they could take out N10,000 and buy them dinner.
Given that they were aware of his wealth and possessed his ATM password, it is believed that his friends were responsible for the murder. The body was left to a Zaria medical institution.
He claimed that despite being unable to enlist in the Army, the young men stayed and carried on ambling through Zaria, as the recruiting was no longer held in the Falgore forest because of the constant snake bites.
He claimed that after being driven out of the PZ by the authorities, they sought sanctuary in the polo ground and carried on causing trouble for the nearby population.
