Investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of businessman Onyejekwe Izuchukwu, whose bones were discovered in a hotel room in the state’s Ikoyi neighborhood, is the Lagos State Police Command.
PUNK According to information obtained by Metro, Izuchukwu, a Texas, USA-based businessman, had gone back to Nigeria for some business matters when the incident that took his life occurred on June 9, 2024.
The 62-year-old businessman reportedly stayed at the Ikoyi hotel while doing the transactions that brought him back to the nation.
Speaking anonymously to our correspondent on Sunday, the source—who chose not to give his identity out of concern for retaliation—said that Izuchukwu checked into the hotel on Thursday, June 6, and that on the following day, one of the housekeepers discovered him lying on the floor of his room, unmoving.
The source claims that the cleaner alerted the hotel’s management to his suspicions that the businessman had passed away, and the hotel’s Chief Security Officer then reported the incident to the police.
According to the source, Izuchukwu was a guest who checked into the hotel on June 6, 2024. A hotel cleaner discovered him dead in his room on June 9, 2024, at around 7 o’clock in the evening.
Onyejekwe Izuchukwu, 62, was discovered dead on the floor of the room he had reserved, according to the Assistant Chief Security Officer of the hotel in Ikoyi, who informed the authorities of the discovery.
“A doctor was called in to examine him despite the fact that he was found in that state, and it was the doctor who declared him deceased.”
Prior to his passing, Izuchukwu was listed as the President of Bits and Drilling Tools, a Schlumberger subsidiary, where he oversaw the creation of cutting-edge drilling technologies intended to lower costs and boost productivity in the oil and gas sector. When contacted, Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, stated that the command has started an investigation into the matter.
“Izuchukwu was found lifeless on the hotel room floor,” he stated. His body, identified as Izuchukwu, has been placed in an Ikeja morgue for an autopsy after a physician pronounced him dead. The command has started looking into the matter.
