According to Mr. Folarin Oworu, the program coordinator for the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), all 36 states would receive full mobilization and education about the conversion of gasoline-powered cars to compressed natural gas.
One of the main pillars of the President Bola Tinubu administration’s palliative efforts to lessen the impact of the policy to remove gasoline subsidies on the general public is the CNGI.
By encouraging the use of CNG as a more economical and environmentally friendly fuel substitute, the program aims to alleviate the plight of Nigerians.
He claimed that 100 conversion kits were used for the Kaduna kickoff and that the demonstration will move on to Lagos since he thought all 36 states needed to be reached by the end of the year.
“We are doing front-to-back CNG conversion mobilization here today,” Oworu declared.
“Mr. President has decided to grant the road transport unions—namely, NATO, NURTW, and other road transport unions—free conversion.
“The goal is to reduce the cost of commercial transportation, and one way to do this is by converting transport unions’ commercial trucks to lower their operating expenses.”
He claims that the plan is to pass on the savings to the final consumer by lowering the cost of transportation.
He called on participants in the program, which aims to lessen the suffering of the masses by lowering fuel prices and transportation costs, to include members of NURTW, NARTO, and other road users.
Yasin acknowledged the cooperation from the surrounding states and thanked Tinubu and the organizers for include transport workers in the event.
He emphasized the program’s ability to lower gasoline prices and transportation expenses, which would lessen the suffering of the general public.
